Don Dwight Seel
April 17, 1935 - December 12, 2019
Don Dwight Seel, 84, formerly of Longwood, Pennslvannia passed on December 12, 2019 on his beloved farm in Smyrna, Delaware, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 17, 1935 in West Chester, Pennsylvania, grew up in Kennett Square, PA and summered on Great Island, Maine. After graduating from Kennett Square High School, Don joined the Army and was Honorably Discharged. He then went to work for Dupont. Later, he fulfilled his dream to own and operate his own farm. He moved to Smyrna in 1977 where he was able to farm and bring family and friends to hunt. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and traveller and a proud member of the Freemasons.
Don is survived by his brother Ted, his four daughters Bonnie Clem (Rusty), Donna Seel, Pamela Eierman (Paul) and Stephanie Lattomus (Michael), his grandchildren Michelle and Rusty Clem, Joe, Joni and Jason Hash, Ernest and Allen Eiermann, and Emily, Anna and Preston Lattomus. He has 8 great grandchildren, with more on the way. He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Marjorie Seel, his wife of 58 years Rosie, and his son-in-law, Rusty Clem.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 18th. Visitation will be 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at Faries Funeral Home in Smyrna, Delaware. A brief service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Burial at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be held on Friday, December 27th at 11 a.m. where Grandson and Marine Veteran, Jason Hash, will provide a welcoming and comments before a military gun salute and flag presentation. Attendees are invited back to the home of daughter, Stephanie Lattomus to follow directly.
